communale appellation d'origine contrôlée (wine of controlled origin) by the August 25th, 1967 decree.

Visan was one of the first communes which obtained the "appellation village". The same year, the vine-growers of Visan decided to build a wine-making unit to make the Visan Villages wines only, this wonderful tool, well-adapted for making great wines, has allowed us to elaborate strict selections, especially the separate vinification of each vine variety and the sorting of the grapes.
