2006 summer chapter of Saint Vincent brotherhood July 08, 2006
The summer chapter of Saint Vincent brotherhood presided by Paul Léaunard and presented by Frédéric Soulié was as successful as ever. After the drawing of the cellar shop tombola, the winegrowers carrying the vine-stock and accompanied by the folkloric group and the audience follew up the carriage where sat the Queen, the King and the Lieutenant to Notre Dame des Vignes chapel. The mass was celebrated outside the chapel under the old pine-trees in the Provençal language and it was accompanied by the choir. After the blessing of the vine-stock, the procession went back to the castle where the folkloric group executed the vine-stock dance. After the burning of the vine-stock, the King: Eric Collado, a famous French humorist, The Queen: a beautiful and bright Swiss author and the lieutenant : Luc Costermans, a brave Belgian blind man who has won the challenge to pilot a plane round France during 14h, were introduced. After the ceremony of introduction, the Queen, the King and the lieutenant of the brotherhood opened the Marot cellars by breaking the wall and delivered the magnum of "Cuvée du Marot" which have aged for one year in the Marot cellars. Then, over 300 persons attended the dancing dinner which took place on the castle square and lasted until 2 a.m.
