Women and wine day April 06, 2004
On April 3rd, the Cave Les Coteaux de Visan celebrated women and wine for the second time. An all-female jury headed by Isabelle Forêt, a journalist specialising in oenology who has also written a women's guide to wine, voted upon the vintage 2003 of "Femmes" cuvée. The wine which was selected is composed with 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre, coming from hand-harvested selected old vines. It is fleshy and big-bodied but it is also silky, fine and elegant. Its has got a delicate nose of ripe red fruit, a feminine wine with a lot of character and brend. All the day long, the cellars were open to the public for visits and tasting. Early in the afternoon, Chantal Sarrazin, the author, and Chantal Vieuille, the editor, presented the book "Les Coteaux de Visan au fil du temps". Then, Isabelle Forêt was hosting a conference and debate centered upon a better understanding of the differences between men and women concerning wine tasting. This day ended with the vernissage of the painting exhibition of the artists Marianne Bonzom-Chollet and Frédéric Revol.
